Range Data Management Systems
Ground based Range Data Measurement Systems (RDMS’s) provide a uniquely challenging instrumentation environment. We have years of experience building, maintaining, and extending the lifecycle of existing proprietary RDMS systems. We’ve specialize in modular, lightweight, small footprint designs that can be extended easily as new requirements arise.
No longer will integration of new weapons systems require extensive re-writing and re-programming of embedded hardware and software all the way through communication channel to the data consuming systems. New message types are easily implemented to incorporate new weapons capability. Future capabilities will include outbound data and voice channels to fuse the in-building Tactical Analysis and Feedback (TAF) experience with the direct experience of the Observer/Controller (OC). This system will eventually allow the OC to “see” everything that was previously only available centrally, including situation maps, operational graphics, audio, and video.
The Delaris RDMS Solution Provides:
- On-the-fly update rate adjustments based on the type and motion of the instrumented player
- Use of Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) radios and base stations that can be tuned to different multi-national environments and that make efficient use of limited radio bandwidth
- Automatic detection of weapons system type and the tuning of the radio channel by profile
- The use of Department of Defense (DoD) and industry standard protocols (DIS) for information transfer between consuming applications
- Scalable, open, message-based internal architecture
- The system is based on open-source and government-owned hardware and software standards
- Built with modular procurement in mind, keeping cost of entry low
